This is the first study evaluating the effect of heavy metals on the activity of antioxidant enzymes in a cell suspension culture of Jatropha curcas.
The higher enzymatic activity (SOD, CAT and POX) was found during the 5 hours of culture by using Pb or Cr concentrations from 0.0 to 3.0 mM.
There was a relationship between Cr and Pb with antioxidant enzymatic activities in cell suspension culture tolerating and accumulating high concentrations of HMs
